Congratulations to Fr. Ken Omernick who recently received the Elizabeth Seton Award for his support of Catholic education.
The award was bestowed on Fr. Ken by Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki during the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Catholic Schools Dinner.
Archbishop Listecki honored Fr. Ken as a passionate supporter of Catholic education who provides strong pastoral leadership for St. Charles Parish School which is evidenced by the enrollment growth at the school which has doubled in the past 10 years to 300 students.
Under his leadership, the school successfully completed the first phase of a major building campaign including a new school wing and a STEM lab which opened for the 2017-18 school year, Archbishop Listecki said. When St. Charles was awarded Exemplary Recognition in Mission and Identity in 2016 from the Archdiocese, the school received commendations which included impressive collaboration, community building and shared mission between parish staff and school staff as well as the establishment of small faith communities among school families.
