Joey is a cradle Catholic who admits he did not have much of a faith life until a conversion experience while starting studies for economics at UW-Waukesha. He researched what the Catholic Church believed and fell in love with the intellectual tradition of the Catholic Church. Upon seeing the truth which the Church teaches, he says, he fell in love with God and made a conscious decision to make his life about God with the help of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Joey graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio with a bachelor's degree in theology in 2015 and continued his education by returning to Franciscan University to acquire a second major in philosophy in 2016. As an intern for the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, he went on to study in Rome, taking a master’s course in Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue. In Fall 2016, he entered the seminary for archdiocesan priesthood at St. Francis de Sales Seminary in Milwaukee where he discerned out in 2017.
He loves spending time with his nephew and niece, playing guitar and traveling.
