You are your child’s first teacher in the Catholic faith! Praying with your children, taking them to Mass and the Sacraments regularly, and being a good example to them are the most important ways to set them on the path to Meet, Know, Love and Serve Christ. At St. Charles Parish we hope to assist you in that vital role by praying with your children and teaching, discussing and reinforcing the traditions and teachings of the Catholic Church with them during our Child Formation Sessions.
All of our Grade 1 sessions meet on Sunday mornings from 8:30-10:00 am, approximately 3 times each month from early October until just before Easter. Please click here for a detailed calendar or stop by the office to pick up a print copy.
For Grade 1, our Child Formation sessions meet on Sunday mornings from 8:30-10:00 am and are offered in a traditional classroom setting. This class is especially designed to help initiate children into the life of the Church so that they may be ready to start formal preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in Grade 2.
To Register for our Grade 1 Child Formation program, please fill out our online form HERE (one per child) AND return the Emergency Medical and Payment forms (one of each per family) along with your payment to the Child Formation Office by August 1, 2018.
As always, please contact us in the Child Formation Office with any questions or concerns.

We work with your child to accomplish this through individual or small group preparation according to their needs, using materials appropriate to their age and grade level. Please contact us for more information.
We work very closely with you to help your child prepare for and celebrate the sacraments according to their capabilities and in a manner suited to their needs - generally with small group or individual preparation. Please contact us for more information.
We recommend that they begin Child Formation at age 3 in our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program because at this age they are particularly open to God’s love, which is the best foundation for a life-long faith journey. Grade 1 Child Formation is required before beginning the Grade 2 year of preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
