Associate Director of Student Ministries
I honestly believe that the Holy Spirit brought me to St. Charles Parish!
The Director and Administrative Assistant of Student Ministries (Nick Scanlan and Laura Zgrabik) prayed a novena to St. Therese of Lisieux for someone to fill the open position of Associate Director of Student Ministries. Meanwhile, I was praying a daily prayer to St. Joseph for my career and vocation. Once the director called me personally to encourage me to apply, I knew this was a sign from God! My goals for this ministry is for the youth to become closer to Christ and so they know they are loved and valued.
I graduated in 2008 from Silver Lake College of the Holy Family in Manitowoc with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. My minors are in Spanish and Ministry/Spirituality. I have experience working in Catholic schools, parishes, ministries and non-profit organizations including Catholic Youth Expeditions and Catholic Charities.
I went to Catholic schools growing up but it wasn’t until senior year of high school when I became very passionate about the Catholic faith.
In high school, I was debating whether I should continue in the Church or not. I decided to join choir in a nearby Catholic Church in order to get extra credit in my school’s music class. I ended up receiving much more! It was then I had a change of heart and decided to stay in the Church. I finally received the Sacrament of Confirmation as a freshman in college. Since then I have been passionate about the teachings of the Catholic faith especially the Sacraments, Theology of the Body and human dignity. I decided to study in theology in college and to work in a variety of ministries which has changed my life ever since!
