Deacon Robert Mitchell
Deacon Rob was ordained in September of 2020 after four years of diaconate formation and eighteen years after entering full communion with the Catholic Church. He brings a love of scripture to his diaconal ministry and views the Catholic faith as a true gift of grace and a joy to share. His diaconal duties include assisting at Mass, administering the Sacrament of Baptism, witnessing marriages, and occasional preaching. He is also serving as the coordinator for Becoming Fully Catholic at St. Charles.
Dcn. Rob is employed full time as Executive Director at The Basilica and National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians at Holy Hill and has served the church as Director of Administrative Services and Business Manager at three parishes prior to joining Holy Hill. Dcn. Rob considers the opportunity to serve the people of St. Charles both a grace and a privilege, and looks forward to supporting the people of the parish in their efforts to carry out their mission to live and share the teachings of Jesus Christ. He has been married to his wife Julie for over 30 years and has three grown daughters. Prior to his ordination he has served St. Charles as a Lector, Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, and RCIA team member. In his free time Dcn. Rob enjoys golf, cooking and grilling, and spending time with the family.
